What it means
You like design that doesn’t try to please. Black and white, heavy type, hard edges and structure left in plain sight. It borrows from Swiss posters and the early web: honest, direct and a little confrontational.

- Heavy or condensed grotesques, set very large.

- Black and white, maybe one hard accent like red or electric blue.

- Visible grid lines, thick rules, blocks stacked edge to edge.

- No shadows, no rounded corners, raw labels.

Watch out for
Ugly on purpose is still a craft. Without careful spacing and hierarchy, it just looks unfinished.
