What it means
You want to see the structure. Monospace labels, visible grids and numbers that line up. The page looks like a well-made spec sheet: nothing decorative, everything measured.
- Type
- Monospace for labels and data, often next to a plain sans.
- Colour
- Mostly neutral. Colour is saved for state: green for good, red for trouble.
- Layout
- Strict grids, tables and aligned columns.
- Details
- Units, codes, version numbers, small uppercase labels.
Where it works
Technical products and data-heavy pages: anything people scan rather than read.
Watch out for
A page set entirely in mono gets tiring. Long text still wants a proportional font.
