Terms of use

Last updated: October 2026

Skills for Design (skillsfordesign.com, "the site") is run by Radu, an individual based in New York, USA ("we," "us"). By using the site, subscribing to the newsletter or buying a placement, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

1. Using the site

You can browse, read and share links to the site freely. Please don't:

  • scrape or copy the directory in bulk, or republish our reviews, verdicts or before/after images as your own (quoting short excerpts with a link back is fine);
  • try to break, overload or get around the site's security;
  • use the site or our forms to send spam, malware or anything illegal.

We may change, pause or remove any part of the site at any time.

2. Our reviews are opinions

Listings, scores, verdicts and before/after images are editorial opinions: one editor's honest judgement, made with the method described on How we test. Some things to know:

  • "After" images are generated by us. We apply each skill's published instructions to a standard brief. We don't run the skill inside its own tooling, so your results with a native install may differ, for better or worse.
  • Star counts, install commands and descriptions come from public sources (mostly GitHub) on the date shown, and they may be out of date.
  • A score isn't a guarantee, benchmark or certification.

Spot a mistake? Tell us and we'll check it and fix or retest where needed.

3. Third-party tools: use at your own risk

The skills, plugins, MCP servers and other tools listed here are made by other people and companies, not by us. We don't control them, audit their code or guarantee they're safe, maintained or fit for your purpose. Before you install anything (especially an install command that runs code, or an MCP server that can reach your files, accounts or the internet), read the source, check the license and use your own judgement. Your use of a third-party tool is governed by that tool's license and terms, not by ours.

Links to other sites are for convenience. We're not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices.

4. Submissions

When you submit a tool, you confirm that the information you send is accurate and that you're allowed to share it. You give us permission to use, edit, summarise and publish it (and the public details of the project) on the site, in the newsletter and on social media. We review every submission by hand and may decline or remove any listing at our discretion. Submitting is free and doesn't guarantee a listing, a test or a score.

These terms apply when you buy a sponsor slot or another paid placement ("placement"). Current prices and what's included are shown on /sponsor at the time you buy. Paid placements are labeled "Sponsored". /featured redirects there.

5.1 What you get. A sponsor slot is a clearly labeled "Sponsored" placement on the site, $99 USD for 30 days unless a different price is shown when you buy. A pinned paid listing, if offered, is labeled "Sponsored" too. Paid placements are always labeled and sponsored links use rel="sponsored".

5.2 Review and approval. Every placement is reviewed before it goes live. We may approve, ask for changes or reject any placement, for example if the product is off-topic, misleading, unsafe, infringes someone's rights or breaks the law. If we reject your placement, you get a full refund. We'll aim to decide within 5 business days.

5.3 Running time. Your 30 days (or the period you bought) start on the day your placement goes live, not the day you pay. We'll tell you the go-live date by email.

5.4 Editorial independence. Paying for a placement does not buy a review, a score, a verdict or a better ranking. If your tool is also reviewed, we'll review it the same way as everything else and may score it low. These terms don't let you edit or approve our editorial content.

5.5 Your content. You're responsible for the text, images, links and claims you give us. You confirm they're accurate, aren't misleading, don't infringe anyone's rights and comply with applicable law (including advertising and disclosure rules). You give us a license to display them for the placement period and to keep a record afterwards. If a complaint, claim or legal problem arises because of your content or product, you agree to cover our reasonable costs.

5.6 No guaranteed results. We don't promise any number of views, clicks, signups, sales or stars. Any traffic figures we share are estimates.

5.7 Payment. Payments are processed by Stripe in USD, on Stripe's hosted checkout page. Prices don't include any taxes your country may charge you. A placement is a one-time purchase, not a subscription, so nothing renews automatically. This site does not load Stripe.js.

5.8 Refunds and cancellation.

  • Rejected by us: full refund.
  • You cancel before go-live: full refund.
  • After go-live: no refund for the time already used, because the placement has been delivered. If we end your placement early for a reason other than your breach of these terms, we'll refund the unused days pro rata.
  • We remove it for a breach (for example, the product turns out to be malicious or misleading): no refund.
  • If something goes wrong (the placement didn't appear, a broken link on our side), email us before opening a dispute with your bank. We'll fix it, extend the placement or refund you.

Refunds go back to the original payment method, normally within 5 to 10 business days after we process them.

Some links may be affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. They're marked where they appear. See our Disclosures. This page does not claim membership in any particular affiliate program.

7. Our content and trademarks

The site's design, text, scores, verdicts and our generated before/after images belong to us. Third-party names, logos and trademarks (including Claude and Anthropic) belong to their owners. We use them only to identify the products we write about. Skills for Design is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic or any listed project, unless a placement is labeled "Sponsored."

We respect creators' rights. If you maintain a listed project, or own content shown on the site, and want something corrected, updated or removed, email [email protected] with the page URL and what you'd like changed. We usually act within a few business days.

Formal copyright notices (DMCA). If you believe content on the site infringes your copyright, send a notice to [email protected] with:

  1. your physical or electronic signature;
  2. identification of the copyrighted work;
  3. the URL of the material you want removed;
  4. your contact details;
  5. a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law; and
  6. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you're the owner or authorised to act for them.

A designated DMCA agent is not registered on this page, and no postal address is published yet. Send notices to [email protected]. If you believe content was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice with the details required by 17 U.S.C. §512(g). We remove listings of people who repeatedly infringe.

9. No warranty

The site, the newsletter and all content are provided "as is" and "as available." As far as the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

10. Limits on our liability

As far as the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or business, arising from your use of the site or any listed third-party tool. Our total liability for any claim relating to the site or a placement is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.

Some places don't allow these limits. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that can't be waived (for example, in the EU or UK).

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction. Before going to court, please email us. Most problems can be fixed quickly. If you're a consumer in the EU or UK, you can also bring a claim in your own country's courts and keep the protection of its mandatory laws.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and the version in force when you bought a placement applies to that purchase. If you keep using the site after a change, you accept the new terms.

13. Everything else

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, that doesn't mean we've waived it. These terms, together with our Privacy policy and Disclosures, are the whole agreement between you and us about the site.
