Skills for Design (skillsfordesign.com) is a small, independent directory of Claude skills, plugins and MCP servers for designers. It's run by one person, Radu, an individual based in New York, USA. When this policy says "we" or "us," it means Radu. For EU and UK data-protection law, Radu is the controller of your personal data.

The short version

  • No tracking cookies. We don't use cookies or fingerprinting to track you. The only thing stored on your device is your light or dark theme choice, in local storage, and it isn't used to identify you.
  • Our analytics count visits without identifying you.
  • If you give us your email (newsletter, submission or purchase), we use it only for that purpose.
  • We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
  • You can ask us to see, fix or delete your data at any time.

What we collect and why

WhenWhatWhy (and legal basis under GDPR)How long
You visit any page Standard request data your browser sends: IP address, browser type, the page requested, referrer. This is handled by our host, Cloudflare. To deliver the site and protect it from abuse (legitimate interests). Cloudflare's short-term security logs; we don't keep our own copy.
Analytics Anonymous, aggregate page views, referrers, country, device type and page-load performance, via Cloudflare Web Analytics. No cookies or local storage, and no tracking across sites. Cloudflare says it doesn't store your IP address for analytics. To see which pages are useful and keep the site fast (legitimate interests). Aggregate reports only.
You choose a theme The word "light" or "dark", stored in local storage in your browser. To remember the color theme you picked (legitimate interests). It never leaves your device. Until you clear site data.
You subscribe to the newsletter Your email address, signup date and source page, once a newsletter is connected. The signup form on this site does not send mail yet. When it is connected, the provider can also record whether emails were delivered, opened or clicked. To send the newsletter you asked for (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time. Until you unsubscribe, then removed or suppressed so we don't email you again.
You submit a tool The repository URL, tool type and description, plus your email if you choose to give it. To review the submission and reply to you (legitimate interests). Up to 24 months, or sooner if you ask.
You buy a sponsor slot Name, email, company (if any), billing country and address, what you bought, and payment status. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them. To deliver what you bought, send receipts and handle refunds (contract), and keep tax and accounting records (legal obligation). As long as tax law requires, generally up to 7 years.
You email us Your email address and whatever you write. To reply (legitimate interests). As long as needed for the conversation, up to 24 months.

We don't knowingly collect sensitive data (health, religion and so on), and we don't make automated decisions about you that have legal effects.

Cookies

This site does not set cookies. Your theme choice is stored in local storage, not in a cookie, and it isn't used to track you, so there's no cookie banner. When you pay, you'll be sent to Stripe's hosted checkout page, and Stripe may use its own cookies there for security and fraud prevention, under Stripe's privacy policy. If we ever add something that uses cookies, we'll update this page first and ask for consent where the law requires it.

Who helps us run the site

We use a few service providers ("processors"). They handle data only on our instructions:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): hosting, security and cookieless analytics. Privacy policy
  • Beehiiv, Inc. (USA): sending the newsletter and managing subscriptions, once the newsletter is connected. Privacy policy
  • Stripe, Inc. (USA): payment processing. For some purposes, such as fraud prevention and its legal obligations, Stripe acts as an independent controller. Privacy policy
  • Mail sent to [email protected] is received so we can read it. This page does not name a separate email host.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our users or the public.

Newsletter tracking: like most newsletter tools, Beehiiv can record whether an email was opened (with a tiny image) and which links were clicked. If that is turned on, it would be used only in aggregate, to see what readers find useful, and you can block it by turning off image loading in your email app. The signup form on this site does not send mail yet.

International transfers

We're based in the US, and so are all our providers, so your data will be processed in the United States. Where EU or UK law applies, we rely on our providers' certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (and its UK extension) or on Standard Contractual Clauses in their data-processing agreements.

Your rights

You can, free of charge:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
  • correct it if it's wrong;
  • delete it ("right to be forgotten");
  • object to or restrict how we use it;
  • take it with you (data portability);
  • withdraw consent at any time. For the newsletter, click "unsubscribe" in any email.

Email [email protected] from the address in question. We'll reply within 30 days. If you're in the EU or UK and unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your local data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).

US residents: we don't sell or "share" personal information as California law defines those terms, and we don't use it for targeted advertising. Whatever state you live in, you can ask us to access or delete your data in the same way. Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: because we don't track you across sites, there's nothing to switch off. We treat every visitor as opted out.

Children

This site is for professionals and isn't aimed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us their email, tell us and we'll delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, we keep the data we hold to a minimum, and our accounts use strong passwords and two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant (for example, adding a tool that uses cookies), we'll also note it on the site, and in the newsletter if it affects subscribers.
