How Tally works

A budget you set once and check in seconds.

Most budgets fail at the bookkeeping. Tally does that part for you, so the only decisions left are the ones that matter.

  • Sync your accounts

Connect checking, savings and cards. New transactions appear on their own, already sorted.

  • Fill your envelopes

Split income into categories like rent, groceries and fun. Spend from an envelope, not a guess.

  • Never miss a bill

Reminders arrive a few days early, with a note on whether the money is already set aside.

  • Budget together

Share envelopes with a partner or roommates. Everyone sees the same numbers, in real time.

Shared budgets

One budget for the whole household.

Invite a partner, a roommate or a teenager. Share the envelopes you split and keep the rest to yourself.

  • Same numbers, everywhereA purchase on one phone updates everyone’s envelopes.
  • Private where it should bePersonal accounts and envelopes stay personal unless you share them.
  • Fewer money conversationsSee who spent what, and what’s left, without having to ask.

Wherever you check your money.

Questions

What is envelope budgeting?

You divide the money you have into categories — envelopes — before you spend it. When an envelope is empty, you either stop or move money from another one. Tally does the arithmetic and keeps every envelope up to date as transactions come in.

How does bank syncing work?

You connect your accounts through a secure, read-only link. Tally can see transactions and balances so it can sort them, but it can never move money.

Can I share only part of my budget?

Yes. On the Family plan, each envelope and account can be shared or kept private, so you can split groceries and rent while keeping personal spending your own.

What happens if I cancel a paid plan?

You move back to Free at the end of your billing period. Your history stays, and you choose which account and envelopes remain active.
